PIG-NE:  Back in the Saddle

Well it's been awhile since we've investigated anything and that is normal for our group this time of year.
PIG-NE  seems to never work in the winter...maybe it's "hibernation"  or I call it Yogie Booboo syndrome.  Neh...not really.  Not alot of clients think to have an investigation that time of year.  After Halloween, we are forgotten with the holidays.

I hope that this finds all is well with everyone.  And the winter break brought much news.  Dan (hubby)  is running for congress...go Dan...happy little justice boy he is!!  We are expecting our first baby this summer...so that I am totally excited about.  DDR, WOW playing, ghosthunter geek baby!!  WOOT!!  (if you are a super dork, you get it.)

Can't wait to see everyone on the 10th!!!

A little about me....

Sep. 30th, 2007 | 11:06 pm
location: here and there
mood: determined determined
music: stuff and junk and junk and stuff

The mission of my journal is to share my own thoughts and ideas about our investigations and  my life.  I feel that it is extrememly important in ghost hunting not only to know the facts, but the minds of those who are on the persuit of truth.   I will come here to get out my fears, beliefs, findings and my disappointments.  Ghost hunting to me is one of the most important research studies that could ever be explored.
"Nothing ventured, is nothing gained."

How was this flame lit for me?

I have been in the field of paranormal investigation for most of my life.  Ever since I was a child, I have sensed and seen spirits around me, and occasionally had visions of future happenings.  As a child, I didn't know what was going on, but my grandmother explained things to me, including that these talents run in my family and especially that these experiences were nothing to be afraid of and were completely natural, if not a little bit abnormal for your average person.  I seem to have a special affinity for the spirits of children, even still today.  I have been told that they are attracted to my "motherly" vibe.  I joined a local paranormal group at the behest of Tabitha, a close personal friend of mine for many years, in the fall of 2006.  Due to my strong background in management and retail sales, I was made the Public Relations manager of the group.  I ran the daily functions of the group, from interviewing clients and potential members, to setting up investigations.  Tabitha and I decided in March of 2007 to form our own paranormal investigative team, and this is when the Paranormal Investigation Group of New England was formed.

My special area of interest is in the field of EVPs, or electronic voice phenoemna.  I have spent many years studying the nuances of this particular aspect of paranormal investigation.

Other than that I am a born super geek who loves anime, movies, music, hiking, hanging out with my friends and playing WOW as much as I can.

PIG-NE's Rules

  • Never go alone. Not only do you not have someone with you to corraborate your evidence, but it is also unsafe!

  • Be specific about where your group will be. Have an outside contact set up that knows where you are, just in case an emergency arises.

  • Carry legal ID and permits. You should always have permission to be at a site, and the proof to back it up.

  • If you have a bad feeling, TRUST IT!

  • For any site, you should always ask for promission to investigate. Include local law enforcement in your plans when investigating a place like a grave yard or other public place.

  • Be aware of all weather conditions that can taint an investigation's evidence. (i.e. snow, fog, rain)

  • Always carry two-way radios or cell phones, both for safety and communication purposes.

  • Never drink or use drugs before a hunt. You must have your full faculties about you on any investigation.

  • Never smoke during an investigation. Smoking can corrupt any evidence collected at a site.

  • Do not whisper. Speak clearly as you might ruin EVP evidence.

  • No purfume of any kind on an investigation. Again, you run the risk of corrupting evidence.

  • Keep your hair out of your face and tied back to avoid corrupting evidence.

  • Avoid camera straps.

  • Clean all camera lenses before taking any shots or videos.

  • (In cold weather) If you are able to see your breath, hold your breath as best as possible during shots.

  • Avoid reflective clothing of any kind, including shoes.

  • Keep a good grip on cameras during the investigation. Keep your fingers away from any part of the shutter or lens.

  • Load film on site. This is a little proof that film was not tampered with.

  • Know your equipment. Read about the items you own and use. If you don't know something, look it up, or just don't use it.

  • DO NOT TRESSPASS! Not only is it rude, but it's illegal and it gives serious investigators a bad name.

  • Be aware of your surroundings. Take notes on any sounds or light sources on site.

  • Work as a team.

  • Report any possible health risks on site (i.e. tripping hazards).

  • Be open minded to prayer, smudging, ect. There is no proof to whether it works or not, it can't hurt to do so before all investigations.

  • MOST IMPORTANT: Respect the dead. Remember this is their home now, and respect it as you would a home you are visiting. Thank them for allowing you to be there...It can't hurt.
PIG-NE's GOAL:

The pursuit of ghosts, paranormal phenomena and the pursuit of science met at the crossroads of New England, forming its premier ghost hunting group. The Paranormal Investigation Group of New England, or PIG-NE, was organized to investigate paranormal phenomena, ghosts, apparitions, and other worldly occurrences science has not yet explained.

Ghost hunting and paranormal investigation was taken to a new level since PIG-NE’s founding in March of 2007. As a new organization, PIG-NE draws upon multiple areas of ghost hunting, electronics, and paranormal investigatory backgrounds as a competent body of ghost hunting professionals.

Utilizing the latest methods of ghost hunting and the scientific method, PIG-NE investigates reported incidences of haunting, including, but not limited to EVP, ghosts, apparitions, and other paranormal experiences without conventional explanation. PIG-NE’s goal is not only response to reports of ghosts and its realm of paranormal research, but also to produce alternative hypotheses in quantifying some scientific explanation.

As a ghost hunting organization, we are continually on the search for new ghost hunting professionals and sites to investigate. If you are interested in ghost hunting, or know of a haunted location in New England, we’d like to hear from you. As a scientific body, we will do our best to quantify all test conditions, and do our best to gather data related to apparitions, EVPs, and other ghost related phenomena.

It is our goal as a ghost hunting organization to explain hauntings and ghost like phenomena not only within standards and practices of the scientific community, but collect the largest ghost related body of film, media, audio, and data possible.
